CAMP DIRECTOR JOB POSTING
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
Gulf Coast Bible Camp is searching for a full-time Camp Director who will oversee the maintenance and improvements of the buildings and grounds, as well as scheduling and supervision of rental groups, weekend retreats and sponsored summer camp sessions. This position requires a passion for ministry and ability to perform physical labor.

Reports To: GCBC Board of Directors
Job Description:
Maintain grounds by mowing, weed eating, tree trimming, etc.
Maintain landscaping by weeding flower beds, trimming bushes & trees, etc.
Upkeep trails by bush hogging and clearing downed trees.
Maintain and perform improvements on all facilities that could include interior / exterior painting, repairing leaks, installing new fixtures, etc.
Regularly monitor supplies in all buildings and restock when necessary.
Perform regular maintenance of the swimming pool.
Coordinate the camp calendar, including but not limited to camp sessions & retreats.
Manage opening and closing of facility for summer camps and any off-season retreats
Ensure that the camp activities and operations are safe and operable.
Work with the camp treasurer and bookkeeper to manage the full budget for the camp.
Oversee the operation of all mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment.
Primary person in camp responsible for all camp vehicles and that they are kept in safe and proper working conditions.
Establish a system of preventative maintenance for the equipment.
Works with the Board of Directors to ensure proper adherence of the camp to all Federal, State, and Local rules and regulations.
Supervise volunteer groups and ministry work crews.
Qualifications:
Strong personal commitment to Jesus Christ.
Member of the Churches of Christ and in good standing with current elders.
Possess a deep love for youth and desire to work in a ministry for them.
Has good self-motivation.
Has a valid driver license and clean driving record.
Must consent to a background check.
Experience and training in related fields in the maintenance of buildings and grounds including carpentry, electrical, plumbing and general maintenance.
Ability to do heavy lifting, bending, stooping, standing, walking for extended periods. Work involving climbing ladders.
Experience working with power tools and knowledge of their safe operation.
Have the ability to work outdoors under adverse weather conditions.
Educational and Experiential Requirements:
High School Diploma
Postsecondary education in a related field is an asset.
Experience with camp ministry is an asset.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary is provided for this position; level will be commensurate with experience and ability.
Housing: The Camp Director is provided a house on the camp grounds (3 bed, 2 bath house).
Vehicle: A camp vehicle is provided for business use.
